The Wasatch Mountains are popular in winter and summer, easily accessed…classic peaks, lots of biking and hiking trails, wilderness areas.

This is one of the most spectacular places in the world, and I’m around it every day.

Alaska is our biggest, buggiest, boggiest state. Texas remains our largest unfrozen state. But mountainous Utah, if ironed out flat, would take up more space on a map than either.

I love going snowboarding and biking and hiking in Utah.
Derek Parra, Olympic Gold Medalist
The draw of the Wasatch Mountains is magnetic.

| Greg Witt |
|
When it comes to hiking in the Wasatch Mountains, Greg wrote the book—literally. He’s the author of 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City and he’s a leading authority on the trails, hiking, history and wildlife of the area. Some weeks, Greg hikes more miles than he drives, which means he wears out his boots faster than he wears out tires. He has crossed the Grand Canyon on foot more than a dozen times, climbed Colorado’s three highest peaks in three days, and while guiding in the Alps hiked over 700 miles, gaining nearly 100,000 vertical feet—the equivalent of climbing Everest nine times. He is a certified Wilderness First Responder, so you're in good hands. His passion for adventure always focuses on sharing the experience with others through guiding, and his engaging writing and presentation style. |
